TRAVEL
Arriving by plane
The closest airport is Domodedovo Airport in Moscow, which is about twenty miles from campus. From the terminal, follow the signs to Ground Transportation, where you can take a taxi to campus or take a train to the Paveletskaya Metro Station (see below).
Shuttle
International participants will be provided with a shuttle & escort service by organizers.
Taxi
The fare to MEPhI from Domodedovo or Sheremetievo Airport should be around 1500 R. You can get an authorized taxi from a taxi stand outside each terminal. There is usually a short line and a dispatcher will place you in the next available taxi. During peak hours, the ride could take 45 minutes or more.
Subway & Train
Moscow has a comprehensive public transportation system known as the Moscow Metro or the “M,” with subway and airport connection trains running throughout the city.
VISAS
Diligence is apparently now appropriate to successfully get visas for travel from the US to Russia. It appears that the first day to apply for a visa starting 22 October will be 20 August, which is 45 working days prior, not counting holidays (presumably Russian holidays). NRNU MEPhI will provide foreign participants with support letters for visa applications. Deadline for request of the visa support is August 10.
